The great debate is over – The Ultimate Beer Price Comparison chart is HERE!
When we travel, we always love a good beer. Living in both America and Australia and then backpacking Southeast Asia, we have found a vast variation in beer prices. That is why we decided to put together the most important infographic in the world, the ultimate beer price comparison guide!
Australia and Scandinavia beer prices were some of the highest we have seen, while Vietnam beer prices were the lowest (One time we bought 6 beers for a $1.50, so naturally we asked for 10 more, please!). It is crazy to think a beer in Norway is upwards of $10 USD!
We hope this has helped you plan your next get away and aid you to estimate how much money you need to meet your beer and party consumption needs. Beer is a big part of your travels, right? Nothing better to end your day exploring with a nice, cold, bubbly beer!
Surprisingly this works really well when you are backpacking on a tight budget! So where does your country rank? Leave a comment below about your beer buying experiences.

Great scots! Norway must be highly beer deprived, looking at these statistics… Or rich. I think a trip to Kazakhstan is in order ;).

Apparently, Norway is one of the richest countries in the world! So $10 for a beer seems normal to them. Cheapest we have seen was Vietnam, $.25 beers!!
Love this! We did Germany and Prague last month
You would love this infographic since you love your brewery tours :)
I have to take it with a grain of salt, as I do not see the Czech Republic.
That just means youll have to travel somewhere else to check out other beer prices! :)
Definitely sending this to my Dad – he’ll be surprised to learn that the price of a pint on the Isle of Man is on par with Australia! Cool post!
Australia was crazy expensive!!! Such a huge difference to Asian countries. Its probably why all Aussies travel to Bali! Its like half the price!
The UK aren’t as high on the list as I expected, but then again I know many places where you can get a pint for less than $4.47… so maybe that’s why, or maybe I just hang in student bars too much! Poland however… that’s a great place to get a cheap beer!
I think its just an average of pints prices! I remember Jack was saying there were places in the UK that sold pints for 2 pounds and others for 10!
We live in the land of beer, Germany! I wish it was a little cheaper!
hahah the land of beer! I like that :) Ive never had beer in Germany but I hear Oktoberfest is where all your money goes towards beer and its not cheap!
Im not a beer fanatic but this is Interesting info :)
thanks! Beer isnt for anyone, but when its cheap its great!
Oh, what a fun post! I’ve lived in Indonesia and the US. Have you tried Bir (beer) Bintang?
Oh bintang, on everyones shirts at every party! haha yes we have!! Indonesia was generally pretty cheap but Bali wasnt (because of all the tourists there!)
Another reason why I love Vietnam! I’m gonna be a tee-totaler when I get to Norway! ;-)
Thats when duty free becomes your best friend :)
I remember in Albania it was pretty cheap, less than a $ for sure. And in Australia was very expensive, same as Norway I think…
Inspired idea! Pretty much agree with where you put us in the UK. I was surprised to find out in Rome the cheapest drink was wine…and I mean not only cheaper than beer, but cheaper than soft drinks and even water! It was a struggle :-)
Well if its cheaper than water, looks like wine has to be the drink of choice!! We found beer cheaper than water in Vietnam, what a choice that was!!
wow! I love this chart! Glad to see the US isn’t the most expensive on something. I frequent Panama quite often and their beer, pretty decent at that, is 45 cents in a grocery and $1 at restaurants. Woo-hoo!
we frequented local 7/11 for cheapest beers, the prices definitely differ in restaurants!
In Hungary, beer is quite cheap, in a cheaper bar you can get a pint for a 1 euro:)
Ohh! 1 euro is a steal!!!
I believe Goa should get a separate listing under India because the beer is way way cheaper there!
Ah! thanks for the tip, we will have to add it to our next chart :)
Might have to avoid Norway after this ;) That would be more than half of my daily budget! Myanmar is where it’s at! Kidding. Great informative infographic!
Asia was the best for beers! Nothing better than a nice cold (cheap) beer on the beach! We loved it!!
I am a big fan of beer! Thanks for this, it will be very usefull whwn I plan my next trip!
Glad to hear it! Beer prices should always determine the next vacation ;)
I was never a big beer drinker but I find as of late I’ve been enjoying it more…this list definitely comes in handy for someone like me, now I know what all my travelling beer drinking friends complain about, lol.
:) Glad we can help! I think were never beer drinkers until that moment is right, like if its sunny, or right after the snow, or camping, or on the beach… !
